This continues until more thawing icicles join in, and small drips turn into steady trickles. Pools of water form, steadily migrating together and flowing across the landscape into streams. The water progresses towards undulating, cascading torrents and eventually eases into gentle rivers of slow-moving water. This piece is shaped by delicate, melodic phrasing and requires a sensitive touch to emulate the small droplets. The use of the sustain pedal will help soften the harmonies to replicate the hues of a watercolour painting.

A new Christmas carol by Philip Le Bas for unison voices (with occasional divisi) and piano, setting the words of William Blake's poem A Cradle Song from his collection entitled Songs of Innocence. The very title of Blake's poem calls out for it to be set to music. Indeed the poem is a straightforward lullaby for the first few stanzas, sung softly by a mother over her sleeping baby, as she marvels at the wonder of this beautiful infant and expresses her love for the child. Her own anxieties and weeping for the child remind her of the Christ-child who also wept as a vulnerable baby. But as God incarnate he wept for me, for thee, for all, and brought peace to heaven and earth. (Blake uses the word beguile perhaps to indicate the paradoxical nature of a weeping God bringing redemption to a suffering world by becoming a vulnerable human baby himself.) The composition aims to avoid unnecessary complexity in the vocal parts, so that it can be sung easily particularly by a parish choir. However, it also attempts to capture some of the beauty, drama and mystery of the scene expressed by Blake. The piece begins and ends in stillness, and there are gentle climaxes here and there, reflecting some of the rise and fall of the poem's lyrics. The first verse's gentle, flowing feel is the comfort of knowing we've been walking a path together. The second verse, a bit stronger, with the full choir entering, builds this comfort and joy of common experience. The third verse, with its darker text, should also have a more misterioso feel, but don't let it drag. Our parting is approaching. The fourth verse should have a lighter, more sparkling feel, with streams and snowflakes and growing understanding that though what may seem final is not, merely a new way of being. The resoluteness of the fifth verse reflects the strength of knowing that the path we have shared together regardless of our proximity, and gives us strength and joy in knowing that our lives are bettered by our shared experiences. The coda, beginning in measure 95, brings us back to a more settled feel, as we are comforted by the memory of those shared experiences. By the final bars, we arrive at a restful state, comfortable knowing that though time has passed and circumstances have changed, we have been blessed by what we've experienced together.

Healing Hearts 2 is the follow-up to Healing Hearts, which was released the end of 2014 and is nominated for Album of the Year on Whisperings Solo Piano Radio. This is Landons second album for 2015 and hes already working on his first release for 2016! The fourteen tracks on Healing Hearts 2 were gathered from improvisations created during sessions at Landons Healing Piano of Sedona (AZ), so the piano solos are very smooth and soothing - probably the most relaxed and relaxing album of Landons career. Recorded on a Steinway B grand piano at The Peace Palace in Sedona and mastered by Joe Bongiorno at Piano Haven, also in Sedona, the piano sound is impeccable - very warm and enveloping. Very light and free, its a beautiful start. Free At Last starts out almost mournfully - dark and searching - gradually becoming livelier and more optimistic. Its an amazing musical journey and development! Relax and Enjoy expresses the warm comfort of just letting go and being for awhile - leisurely and contented. Feeling the Love is so warm and open that it feels like a musical embrace - melodic yet very free. All Is Well is almost ambient, but what a wonderful atmosphere of quiet contentment it creates - a perfect peace. Transition is like floating on a cloud - effortless and so peaceful. Dark Nights is one of the most beautiful pieces Landon has recorded. It reminds me a little bit of Beethovens Moonlight Sonata and some of Chopins Nocturnes - so poignant and heartfelt that it takes my breath away. The gracefully flowing Dancer expresses freedom and elegant movement. Lullaby closes this excellent album with a piece so soothing it could melt the tension out of anyone. Healing Hearts 2 is the follow-up to Healing Hearts, which was released the end of 2014 and is nominated for Album of the Year on Whisperings Solo Piano Radio. This is Landons second album for 2015 and hes already working on his first release for 2016! The fourteen tracks on Healing Hearts 2 were gathered from improvisations created during sessions at Landons Healing Piano of Sedona (AZ), so the piano solos are very smooth and soothing - probably the most relaxed and relaxing album of Landons career. Recorded on a Steinway B grand piano at The Peace Palace in Sedona and mastered by Joe Bongiorno at Piano Haven, also in Sedona, the piano sound is impeccable - very warm and enveloping.
